Nature doesn’t hurry, yet everything is accomplished is a beautiful reminder that everything is happening at its own pace and that there’s no need to stress or rush. We see this wisdom in the natural world all the time.
The tree doesn’t worry about how fast it’s growing, whether it’s taller or wider than other trees, or whether it’s meeting some arbitrary standard of success. It simply grows in its own way and in its own time.
Similarly, if you observe a river, you’ll notice that it flows effortlessly and naturally, without any force or resistance. The river doesn’t try to fight against the rocks or bend around the obstacles in its path. It simply follows the path of least resistance and adapts to the environment around it.
Příroda se za ničím nehoní. Příroda vím, že vše přijde v ten správný čas.
Čas není vaším nepřítelem
When I first heard this Lao Tzu’s quote, I thought, “God, you’re so impatient!” Indeed, this was my first thought. That’s when I realized why I wasn’t doing very well in life. I wanted everything now or never. I thought of time as a hare that, if I didn’t catch it by the ears, it would run away.
Time is not a hare, and time is not your enemy. For me personally, time is just an illusion, and if we learn to work with it properly, we can eventually achieve our goals. I say “eventually” because we need to take small, slow, and sure steps instead of quick and rash ones.
This is a beautiful lesson for us humans too. We don’t have to try to do things faster than we can – in fact; sometimes it’s better to take our time and do things at a slower pace. This way, we’re more likely to achieve our goals, and we’ll feel more satisfied with the outcome. While some things take longer than others, what matters is that in the long run and over the course of time, all things will be achieved.
Přestaňte se honit za láskou
We can learn a lot from nature – about patience, perseverance, and humility – by just watching and observing. We can be patient and let things happen in their own time rather than trying to force them to happen faster.
So, how does this relate to our human experience? Well, we can learn a lot from nature’s example. When we try to force things to happen or rush through life, we often create unnecessary stress and tension for ourselves. We might temporarily achieve some external goal, but at what cost to our mental, physical, and emotional well-being?
The truth is, the more you chase after something, the more it gets away from you. It’s not because you don’t deserve it or aren’t worthy of it. Instead, when you’re chasing something, you’re sending the vibration of scarcity into the universe. And guess what the universe will do. It will give you even more lack as it does not distinguish between big and small, a little or a lot, or good and bad. On the contrary, if you stop chasing after something, it will start chasing you, if it is meant for you.
Remember that “pomalý a vytrvalý vyhrává závod.” Take relationships slowly and always start with yourself; you will start loving yourself more, appreciating yourself, and not doubting yourself—just like nature.
