How do you feel on a Monday morning when your alarm wakes you up? Do you jump out of bed, excited and ready for your day’s challenges? Do you smile at the thought of your week ahead? Or do you scream silently inside, pull the bed covers over your head and hope everything will go away? If so, you’re not alone.
Many women are leading lives that they don’t really want. Lives they seem to have just fallen into. Lives they would never have chosen for themselves. Often life just seems to ‘happen’.
So what can you do if you feel you’re not using your full potential in your life? What can you do if you feel as though something’s missing? Or maybe you feel trapped by your life, or you simply don’t know how to change it. Maybe you feel it’s too late for you to get on your right path in life.
Maybe you want to make a difference in the world, to lead a rich and fulfilling life. Perhaps you want to make better use of your natural skills and enjoy your work. You want to reach your full potential and earn money doing something you enjoy whilst helping others.
You imagine a life of endless happiness and freedom, earning money while feeling as though you’re not working at all, doing something that’s almost effortless to you because it comes so naturally. You long for all of the jigsaw pieces of your life to fit neatly into place. You long for peace within yourself, to finally achieve those lifelong goals, and give yourself a fresh start. But how do you do that if you don’t know what’s missing, or what changes would be right for you?
The only way to discover what needs changing and how to do that is to go deep inside of yourself, and listen to the quietness there.
Find some time when you won’t be disturbed and sit and relax in a chair. Close your eyes and focus on your breathing for a while. Don’t rush this. In fact, really allow yourself to enjoy the silence within. After a while of focussing on your breathing, when your mind feels sufficiently quiet and relaxed, simply ask yourself “What is my purpose?” Remain quiet and see what thoughts come to your mind. Don’t question or doubt anything that comes, and accept the very first thought you get because it will be accurate. If the thought you receive says that your purpose is to feel a certain way, ie to feel loved, to feel joyful, etc, then that is your soul purpose. If your thought is about doing something, ie to help others, then that is your life purpose. Both of these purposes are essential to know for you to make meaningful changes in your life. You could ask your quietened mind specifically “What is my soul purpose?” or “What is my life purpose?” When you receive an answer, you can also request ‘Tell me more about that please.”
Don’t worry if you feel silly, or if information doesn’t come to you the first time, just try again another time and you may have more success. You don’t need to be psychic to do this, you just need to have a willingness to quieten your mind and let information come to you.
