Just a few weeks ago, almost no one knew who Rosalía Vila was, and then she dropped that fantastic “Berghain” track and suddenly the whole internet had opinions. As an astrologer (and a curious being by nature), of course I had to look at her birth chart. Sadly, we still don’t know her exact birth time, but after falling down a very long TikTok rabbit hole (purely for research), I strongly suspect she’s an Aquarius rising. Even without a confirmed time, though, her core aspects already tell a lot.

The Big Three
Rosalía is a Libra Sun with a Virgo Moon, and while her rising sign is speculative, Aquarius rising fits the overall vibe she presents publicly, the slightly distant coolness, the sharp aesthetic choices, the independent streak.
Her Sun makes only a wide conjunction to Jupiter in Virgo, so for astrologers who use tight orbs, her Sun is technically unaspected. This often shows up as a complicated father relationship, or a fluid or nontraditional expression of identity and sexuality, not fully one thing, not fully another, but something in-between. And from public info, she has dated both men and women. Also, with her Sun at only 2° Libra, her Libra themes (love, relationships, fairness, social balance) may still feel “new,” as if she’s still learning how to master them.
Her Virgo Moon adds a layer of self-critique. This is someone who reviews her own feelings like an editor with a red pen, precise, analytical, possibly overthinking emotional reactions. It also suggests she grew up in an environment where perfection was expected, or at least praised more than authenticity.
Venus in Scorpio at 0°
Her Venus sits at the critical 0° of Scorpio, the deep-end of emotional experience. The only aspect is a very wide trine from Mars in Cancer (over 7 degrees), which many astrologers wouldn’t even count. So again, an “unaspected” energy. Unaspected Venus in Scorpio loves with intensity most people find hard to understand. It’s very “Franz Kafka, You are the knife I turn inside myself; that is love” energy.
Relationships are absolutely a major theme in her life, but she’s not someone who dates out of loneliness. She wants real depth, real fusion, real soul-level knowing.
Mercury in Libra Under Pressure
Her Mercury in Libra receives squares from Uranus and Neptune in Capricorn, and from Mars in Cancer. Capricorn and Cancer are family-system signs, parents, upbringing, security. Mercury in Libra wants diplomacy, peace, fairness, but these squares introduce tension. Mars in Cancer, especially in detriment, can feel emotionally reactive yet unable to act directly. Squared to Mercury, it gives the feeling of “I want to speak up, but I’m not sure I should” or “My voice won’t matter anyway.”
This can create a push-pull between wanting harmony and needing to express something uncomfortable.
Saturn Rx in Aquarius
Rosalía also has Saturn retrograde in Aquarius. I came across a TikTok where she said:
“When I was 28, something started to shift. I started caring less about male attention and about what I was wearing or what others thought. I began expressing myself in ways that give ME satisfaction.”
@rosaliaxsiempre Rosalía knew she was a woman and not a girl once she stopped thinking about men’s perceptions of her #rosalia #lux #larosalia #women #womanhood ♬ La Perla – ROSALÍA & Yahritza Y Su Esencia
That is textbook Saturn return. And it’s exactly why I suspect her Saturn sits in the 1st house, which would make her Aquarius rising. A 1st-house Saturn return is the moment you stop filtering yourself through the expectations of others. You start drawing firmer boundaries. You realize your life is yours.
Saturn in the 1st often brings physical challenges or limitations early in life, and Rosalía did undergo vocal cord surgery at 17 that left her unable to sing for a year, very Saturn-in-the-body symbolism.
Mars in Cancer
If she is Aquarius rising, her Mars in Cancer falls into the 5th house, the house of creativity, performance, dance, music, and joy. Mars in Cancer isn’t loud or aggressive; it works emotionally, quietly, privately. It’s the kind of placement where the person would rather rehearse alone in their room for hours than perform confidently in front of strangers right away. It also fits her teenage interest in flamenco, a deeply emotional, expressive, family-rooted art form.
Her Chart Speaks for Itself
Rosalía’s chart reads like someone with immense emotional depth, a gentle exterior, and a surprisingly strong inner core. She is someone who loves intensely, analyzes quietly, and grows into herself with each passing year. Whether she’s truly an Aquarius rising or not, the chart we can see already reveals a woman who is more complex, more layered, and more self-possessed than the viral moment she’s currently having.
