Have you ever experienced constantly dropping things and feeling perplexed about it? I can relate to this as I have gone through it myself. It was quite a chaotic time for me, and I was clueless about what was happening. At one point, I thought someone had put a curse on me!
From a spiritual perspective, the act of dropping things means that the universe is throwing obstacles for you to overcome. It is not necessarily a bad thing, though, as the obstacles are there for you to stop and take on a different path.
Here is the spiritual meaning, along with my story.
My story
Four years ago, I was going through what I would call a breaking period. I was dropping nearly everything I touched, from plates, mugs, and glasses to a phone or perfume. I broke my favorite perfume in a glass jar, and I can’t even remember how many hand-painted plates I dropped and broke. To make matters worse, I dropped my phone on the road and broke the screen.
At one point, I thought, “what if this has some spiritual meaning?” I was so confused and angry with myself, so I leaned toward the fact that I only had clumsy hands and that this had nothing to do with spirituality.
“The universe has turned its back on me,” I thought.
While spending a weekend with my family in their village, I encountered a woman who occasionally gave me rides to school. I found out that she has an interest in a tarot reading, performs different spells, and has incredible spiritual abilities. She has the uncanny ability to know things about me that I have never shared with her.
A warning sign from the Universe
I was hesitant and embarrassed to ask her why was this weird thing happening to me, but this had been going on for so long, and I had no one else to ask. I explained everything to her, and she smiled and said, “It’s because you’re doing something you’re not supposed to be doing. It’s a warning sign from the universe, literally screaming at you. Can’t you hear it?“
I was speechless. I didn’t understand what she meant by that.
She continued, “The universe puts obstacles in your life so that you don’t do what you’re not supposed to do. For example, imagine you move to Australia, but you won’t do well there. Your apartment will be flooded, someone will break into your car, or you will constantly be moving from place to place. It’s a clear sign that you shouldn’t live there. The fact that everything is falling out of your hands is a glaring sign that you are either doing or thinking something that is not good. You should stop it right now.“
It took my breath away, really. I didn’t expect this! I returned home and began to wonder what the wrong things or thoughts would be. Two months post-breakup, it still felt like it happened yesterday. It was still so fresh and painful. Since the breakup, I told myself I never wanted to be in a relationship again. It was a rash decision of mine that I firmly stood by. I told myself this every day and was stubborn like never before. It was kind of a “negative affirmation,” I kept telling myself daily.
I managed to remove the “curse”
When I met the woman again a month later, I told her that I probably knew what could be the trigger. She just agreed and recommended that I start working on opening my heart and removing all limiting thoughts. As I followed her advice, the frequency of things dropping decreased until I got to the point where I didn’t have a single thing fall out of my hands for a month (knock on wood!)
You are energetically “overcharged”
Perhaps you have experienced the sensation of immense joy after winning something where you feel like jumping, dancing, or shouting. These moments of intense positivity can lead to clumsiness or accidents where objects may be unintentionally dropped or broken.
It is quite a common occurrence, and some people may even get static electrical shocks after touching things. This happens because of the energy that is present within individuals and needs to be released in some way. The reason why you may accidentally drop things while feeling happy or energized is because you have excess energy that needs to be released.
So, what does it mean when you keep dropping things spiritually?
According to the advice of someone who has been dealing with this stuff for decades and from personal experience, dropping things means that you are doing something you shouldn’t be doing. It’s an obstacle from the universe that wants to stop you from continuing on the wrong path.
- It could be the negative thoughts that you keep thinking.
- Ill-wishing or dark thoughts about someone.
- Deliberate self-limiting thoughts.
And no, the universe is not testing. It uses other ways to test you, definitely not by letting you drop or lose things.
Whatever it is, try experimenting a bit and write down all the thoughts you had the moment you dropped something. Over time, you’ll find a connection (type of thoughts) that needs to be eliminated when you compare all your notes.
