North Node Conjunct Venus Transit: My Unexpected Financial Gain

In January 2021, the transiting North Node was conjunct my natal Venus in Gemini, and something happened that I would never have associated with this transit beforehand. I made a surprising amount of money on the stock market, despite having absolutely no trading experience.

My natal Venus is at 17° Gemini, on the cusp of the 2nd and 3rd houses in Placidus. In Regiomontanus, my preferred house system, Venus falls in the 2nd house. Both houses turned out to be relevant to what happened.

January 2021: My First Stock Market Investment

It was January 2021, during the Covid pandemic. Like many people, I was spending most of my time at home and thinking about other ways to earn money.

A friend had become obsessed with GameStop stock. He spent hours reading online forums and kept telling me that something big was about to happen. I had never bought a single share in my life, but his enthusiasm convinced me to open a trading account and invest a relatively small amount.

Then came the famous GameStop short squeeze. The price skyrocketed, and I ended up making approximately six times my original investment. For someone who had never traded before, it was an unbelievable experience.

Why My Venus Placement Was So Accurate

My Venus is in Gemini, on the 2nd and 3rd house cusp. The 2nd house rules personal finances, possessions, and income. Gemini is ruled by Mercury, the planet associated with commerce, calculations, information, and communication.

I bought the shares because of information shared by a friend who had been following discussions on internet forums. I earned money through trading, something I had never previously considered.

Then the North Node squared my Mars in Virgo in the 6th house. Virgo is another Mercury-ruled sign, associated with analysis and attention to detail. I thought I could study the market, make better decisions, and earn even more. Unfortunately, my second investment wiped out the profits.

The experience made me pay much closer attention to North Node transits to natal planets, especially Venus.

My Friend’s North Node-Venus Transit

A friend experienced transiting North Node conjunct natal Venus in Cancer in the 9th house in 2019.

She had accepted a temporary job in Thailand, partly because she wanted to escape the cold European winter. During her stay, she became pregnant with a daughter.

Cancer is associated with motherhood, pregnancy, and family. The 9th house governs foreign countries, international travel, and experiences abroad. Venus is traditionally associated with women, love, and daughters.

Her experience was completely different from mine, yet the sign and house placement described the circumstances remarkably well.

What North Node Conjunct Venus Can Bring

The North Node conjunct Venus transit may coincide with developments involving relationships, money, beauty, personal values, or something you genuinely enjoy.

For me, it brought an unexpected profit through stock trading. For my friend, it coincided with pregnancy during her stay abroad. Someone with Venus in the 4th house might buy a home or move in with a partner. With Venus in the 10th house, a career opportunity involving art, fashion, or working with the public could become relevant.

The sign and house of your natal Venus are the first places I would examine. They can give much more specific clues than the conjunction alone.

As the North Node moves into Aquarius in 2026, people with natal Venus in Aquarius may experience developments involving online relationships, social media, friendships, or communities. Someone might meet a romantic partner through an online group, earn money from a digital project, or become interested in astrology.

My own experience also taught me something about sudden financial gains: making money and keeping it are two very different things.
