Everything in this universe is made up of energy, and human beings are like big bundles of vibrating energy fields. When two people’s energy fields interact closely, like two people sleeping together, their energies affect each other, for better or worse.
It’s More Than Just Physical
When you sleep with someone, it’s not just a physical act. There’s an energetic exchange that takes place between the two of you – whether you’re aware of it or not.
Every person has their own unique energy field or aura that extends beyond the physical body. When you get intimate with someone, your energy fields intermingle and interact.
This unseen energetic interplay can have a profound effect on how you feel – both during the encounter and afterwards. If the person’s energy is vibrant, positive and compatible with yours, you may feel uplifted, energized and refreshed after being with them. However, if their energy is stagnant, negative or clashes with your own, you could end up feeling drained, anxious or “off” somehow.
You Absorb Their “Vibes”
Think about how you feel after hanging out and spending time with certain people. With some, you walk away feeling light, joyful and ready to take on the world. With others, you might feel weighed down, stressed or like you just want to curl up in bed. That’s because we’re all constantly exchanging energy on subtle levels.
My friend was quite the party girl when she was younger. She never had any problem hooking up with lots of guys, especially when she was traveling abroad just looking to have fun. But every time she’d come back from a trip, instead of feeling energized, she’d be totally wiped out and bummed out. She told me a few times that after being with someone, she’d always end up crying and feeling bad.
Personally, I’m really tuned into people’s vibes. I get that getting physical can be nice, especially when you’re young and single and just want a good time. But intimacy is definitely an energy exchange. The “physical stuff” is just a bonus.
When you get intimate with someone, that energy swap goes into overdrive. You’re basically merging your aura and vibes together. That’s why it’s important to be picky about who you decide to hook up with.
Sleeping with someone who’s low-energy means that lack of energy just seeps right into you. You’ll start feeling it yourself. You get stressed out or depressed for no reason. Or maybe you even get physical symptoms like not feeling so great..because energy is a real thing. It doesn’t lie. You take on what the other person’s putting out there..like a sponge.
Signs Their Energy Is Draining You
If you sleep with someone whose energy isn’t compatible or in harmony with your own, you may experience some telltale signs:
- Feeling unusually fatigued, sluggish or low on vitality
- Having a hard time feeling grounded, centered or focused
- Mood swings, irritability or feeling emotionally off-balance
- Overthinking, anxiety or a sense of mental “fuzziness”
- Physical symptoms like headaches, body aches or low immunity
Essentially, you may just feel “off” in a way you can’t quite put your finger on. This is a sign that their energy field has disrupted or drained your own in some way.
Choose Wisely Who You Sleep With
When you get intimate with someone, whether it’s physically or emotionally, you form this really deep connection with them, for better or worse. It’s not just your bodies that are connecting – your actual energies and auras are mingling together, too.
If the other person has a really positive, bright energy that meshes well with yours, then being intimate can leave you feeling totally recharged and amazing on multiple levels – physical, mental, emotional, spiritual. But if their vibe is off or their energy is stagnant, heavy, or negative, then it can really drain you physically and emotionally after being with them.
My advice would be to pay attention to subtle cues from people and be really picky about who you decide to get close to. Your energy has a big effect on how you feel, so choose intimate partners wisely.
You may start feeling bad physically – stomach problems, headaches, dry mouth, or just feeling weird – that could be your body’s way of telling you it’s not a good idea to sleep with that person. Listen to what your body is saying.
