Carnac
Carnac may be best known for the 3000 megalithic rocks making up the largest collection of standing stones in the world, but did you know its Grand Plage is the perfect place for a family day out at the seaside? There’s over 1.2 miles of golden sand to enjoy and excellent water quality for safe swimming and watersports with sailing, sea kayaking, windsurfing and stand up paddle boarding all available.
What’s more, a few metres from the beach you’ll find numerous shops, bars and restaurants meaning you can spend the whole day at the beach.
St. Malo
You don’t have to go far once you step off the ferry to find a wonderful sandy beach! Perfect for a weekend away, the fine, white sandy Grand Plage beach in St Malo stretches for more than 2 miles along the edge of the city, and when the tide is low you can walk out to a number of small rocky islands including Grand Bé where you’ll find the tomb of famous writer and politician Chateaubriand.
On the other side of the city you’ll find Plage de Bon Secours, complete with a seawater swimming pool and diving board and magnificent views over the bay of St. Malo and Dinard.
Benodet
Whether you’re travelling as a couple, family or group of friends, Benodet’s 4 stunning beaches have something for everyone. Sandy Trez Beach is perfect for families with plenty of activities on offer throughout the summer including a kid’s club, windsurfing lessons and catamaran hire.
The other local beaches of St Gilles, Coq and Letty are smaller and more secluded, made up of beautiful rocky coves – the ideal spot for rock pooling or spending a romantic evening at the beach.

La Baule
Once voted one of the most beautiful bays in the world, La Baule is home to one of the longest beaches in Europe with over 5 miles of glorious golden sand. Popular with French tourists and considered a chic resort destination thanks to its prestige hotels and historic beach villas, La Baule is the perfect location for a seaside holiday.
Children will love the summer beach clubs whilst the grown-ups relax on the beach; at low tide there’s plenty of room for family beach games! With fabulous beach restaurants with terraces for al fresco dining, look no further than La Baule for your next break.
Dinard
Dinard, on Brittany’s Emerald Coast, has a fabulous selection of beaches ranging from small hidden coves to long expanses of golden sand. The most recognisable of them all is the wonderful Plage de l’Écluse, which is famous for the rows of blue and white stripy tents lined up across the sand throughout the summer. From June to September you’ll find gym classes, kid’s clubs and many other activities taking place on the beach, but if watersports are more your thing, head to the nearby Plage de Saint-Enogat where you’ll find everything from windsurfing to deep-sea fishing.
