Your diet is one of the most important aspects of living a healthy lifestyle. However, eating a healthy diet is often easier said than done, especially if you have some unhealthy habits, to begin with. Also, if you’re not informed enough, you may risk doing something wrong. Therefore, if you have enough resources, feel free to consult a reputable dietitian to help you get started. And in the meantime, here are some tips that will help you beanify your diet.

Why beans? For start, they’re packed with nutrients, and they’re also considered one of the rare vegetables that are an excellent source of proteins. So for that reason here are some tips that will help eat more beans on a regular basis.

Use them in salads

Salad eaters often tend to be the butt of the joke, but in this case, the joke’s on people who don’t know how delicious and satisfying a meal salad can be. Aside from that, eating a full meal salad is a great way to consume more vegetables and other whole foods. And beans go great with salads, so feel free to add chickpeas or kidney/black beans. This works well in vegan/vegetarian salads, however, if you want something extra, you can also add some tuna or chicken. 

Make a delicious soup 

The easiest way to consume more beans is to make a delicious soup. Soups are healthy and great for your gut health, so you can mix lentils with some other vegetables to make your perfect bean soup. Now, since there are many different types of beans and also a lot of interesting soup recipes, you can just experiment with all of them until you find your perfect bean soup. There’s nothing better than a warm bowl of soup during cold months, so if you ever feel like making yourself warm and cozy, don’t forget to prepare yourself some delicious soup.

Treat yourself to a side dish 

Beans are often used in side dishes, again, mainly due to their amazing nutritional properties. Also, if you don’t like eating plain beans, you can always sauté them with some other vegetables, such as carrots or onions. After all, one of the most famous breakfasts in the world — the full English breakfast has beans as a side dish. So before you make any side dish, make sure you’re using the healthiest beans, so you could be sure that you’re getting the best for yourself.  Being informed and eating the best available option is a sure way to give your body all the vitamins and nutrients that it really needs. 

However, pay attention to always have beans around

If you’re not accustomed to eating beans regularly, then you may not have the habit to buy them often. So, if you’re aiming to bean-ify your diet, then it’s important to always have a few cans of beans stocked in your pantry. Sure, it’s better to eat beans fresh, but even canned ones are fine, especially if you don’t have enough experience in cooking with whole foods. Canned goods are fine, so feel free to buy many different canned beans, so you’ll be able to use them whenever you want to.

In conclusion

Beans are healthy and delicious, which is why it’s important to add them to your diet. Even if you’re not a fan of them, you can still combine them with other dishes and vegetables, and chances are, you’ll soon start to enjoy eating them, as they’re so rich in fiber, minerals and vitamins. Also, that means your health will improve after you add them to your diet, which is why bean-ifying your diet is so necessary.
