You’re scrolling through your social media feed, minding your own business, when you come across an article claiming your star sign makes you more likely to be a psychopath. What? You do a double take. Or at least I did because I am a Gemini, and we always seem to get a bad rap.
There’s no way your sign is on that list! I mean, look at you – you’re as gentle as a lamb. But let’s be real, we’ve all got a dark side. This article isn’t saying you’re Hannibal Lecter. It’s just looking at the personality traits associated with each sign and analyzing which ones are more common in psychopaths.
Capricorn (Dec. 22 – Jan. 19)
As ambitious earth signs, Capricorns are very driven and focused on achieving their goals. But when taken too far, these qualities can turn into a total lack of care or sympathy for other people.
Capricorns really value being powerful and influential, and may see others as just hurdles standing in the way of what they want. If someone seems like they’re blocking their path, Capricorns won’t hesitate to manipulate or take advantage of that person to get ahead.
We’re not talking about just winning an argument here – this zodiac sign will go above and beyond to get what they want, even if it means stepping on people. When a Capricorn really loses it, they stop regarding others as human beings with emotions and feelings. Instead, they view people as mere objects that are obstacles to overcome. They’ll do whatever it takes to get what they want, without considering how it might affect other people. It’s all about their own power and success, with no room for compassion!
Aquarius (Jan. 20 – Feb. 18)
Aquarian tend to value their independence and going against what’s traditionally expected. But some of them take that rebellious spirit too far. Unhealthy Aquarians can distance themselves emotionally from other people, seeing relationships only in terms of what the other person can do for them. They think they’re so special that rules and norms don’t apply.
Aquarians also have a reputation for living in their own world sometimes. And when that turns bad, it seems they start believing in things that just aren’t real. Some of them may be getting way into ideas about aliens or joining up with cults. Taking an interest in unearthly things is one thing, but fully buying into stuff outside of reality could be a sign of deeper troubles. At that point, they might start acting in ways that hurt themselves or others.
Aries (March 21 – April 19)
As a fiery cardinal sign, Aries are known to be bold, impulsive and assertive individuals. However, for some people with heavy Aries influence, these natural traits can become amplified in less desirable ways. When under high levels of stress or not properly channeling their energy, an Aries’ temperament can flare up in unhealthy manners.
They may display a hair-trigger temper and act in reckless or even violent ways without fully considering the potential consequences. Empathy and compassion are not always top of mind in heated moments. There can form an intense need to dominate over people or situations in order to feel powerful.
One challenge an Aries may face is not pausing to sufficiently think things through with their logical mind. In those instances, they can charge headfirst into a scenario or interaction. When their passions are piqued – whether positively about something they love or negatively regarding something they dislike – the Aries spirit takes over fully. They become the true psychopaths!
Gemini (May 21 – June 20)
Geminis are known for being clever, social and adaptable. As an air sign ruled by the planet Mercury, Geminis occupy the third house in astrology which represents communication and thinking. This means that intelligence, communication and having an active mind are defining traits of Geminis.
However, for some people born under the Gemini sign, their strong thinking abilities and talent for rationalization can be taken to disturbing extremes. Some Geminis have been known to become pathological liars, manipulators or con artists, using their mental skills to serve their own selfish desires without any sense of guilt or remorse.
This problematic behavior typically starts when a person’s thinking becomes too excessive. We’ve all been there – when you’re stuck in your own head overanalyzing everything, it can be painful. Your mind races so much that your head feels like it might explode. For those prone to darker tendencies, this type of constant overthinking can potentially transform an originally intelligent mind into something more psychopathic or manipulative in nature.
For Geminis struggling with these issues, it’s almost like their brain is always working against them. They find it difficult to escape the endless thoughts and analysis constantly occurring. This can potentially push some of them down a path towards using their skills for harm.
Scorpio (Oct. 23 – Nov. 21)
How can we leave this list without mentioning Scorpio, that most passionate and deep of signs? Scorpio seems to get as much bad press as Gemini.
Scorpios are known for their intensity and the fervor with which they approach all things. When they set their minds to something, they give it their entire focus and energy. This level of fixation can lead them to lose perspective, becoming almost obsessed. And once they’ve got an idea or goal in their sights, they’ll chase it relentlessly – sometimes crossing lines in the process.
Some Scorpios also tend to be quite secretive and distrusting by nature. They keep parts of themselves guarded, even from those closest to them. And this makes truly intimate connections and emotional openness difficult for them. Without people to ground them, that secrecy and solitude can push Scorpios into darker thoughts and behaviors. In the worst cases, that inner world goes quite dark indeed.
And let’s be honest – Scorpios do seek to understand what makes people tick, so that they can subtly influence situations and steer others. While a desire for sway is part of human nature, with Scorpios it does seem more pronounced. The compulsion to direct and dominate can become an issue!
