Saturn, the ringed planet, is all about lessons and responsibilities. A lot of people aren’t big fans of Saturn or find him intimidating, but he’s really just the best teacher you could ask for.
I see Saturn as more of a coach than a critic. He’s the guy holding a stopwatch, pushing you to work harder and reach your full potential. It may not be fun while you’re learning, but man does it feel good once you cross that finish line. Saturn doesn’t want you to fail, he wants you to succeed through grit and perseverance.
Why I Love Saturn
Saturn represents responsibility and life lessons, and where it’s placed in your chart shows an area you’ll face challenges to help you grow.
For me, Saturn is in Pisces in the first house, right under my Ascendant. Having it so close to my rising sign really amplified its impact. With Saturn in the first house, it often points to a tough childhood, which was definitely true in my case. He seemed like a stern taskmaster, putting obstacles in my path to help me learn discipline. Those younger years didn’t feel very fun – time dragged on when things were hard.
But Saturn also rules maturity, and people with it in the first tend to feel older than their years. I was always the most serious student in class. Instead of hanging with kids my age, I connected more with the teachers or cleaning ladies at school. It didn’t feel like I quite fit in with peers. Now I see though, Saturn wasn’t punishing me – he was exposing me to elder guidance so I could gain wisdom at a faster pace. Yes, it made those years different, but I think it set me up well for who I am today.
Delays And Obstacles
Saturn also represents obstacles we all face from time to time. The parts of our lives connected to Saturn in our birth chart are where challenges may arise. For me, though, with Saturn in my first house, those setbacks felt extra personal. It’s like the clock is ticking but time is never on your side, as if some unseen force is working against your best interests. But difficulties are often just opportunities in disguise.
Discipline And Maturity
While Saturn may not be the most fun planet to deal with, it can teach some important life lessons. Navigating the challenges it brings helps you build qualities like wisdom, patience, and self-control over time. As you work through Saturn’s tests and grow stronger, you gain a deeper understanding of who you are and what really matters to you.
In my own experience, I feel like I matured a bit faster than some of my peers when I was younger. The funny thing is, since you pick up wisdom and knowledge at an early age, once you hit your first Saturn return around 29-30, you start to reap the benefits. Things you enjoyed as a kid but couldn’t do before, like certain hobbies or art, you can pursue now. Meanwhile, your friends who didn’t have the same Saturn influence are just starting to mature.
Reaping The Rewards
Saturn can definitely be a tough taskmaster. It demands nothing but your best effort. But I have to say, it pays off in the long run. After putting in years of hard work in the areas it rules, Saturn will help you lock down real success and security. It teaches you that good things are worth waiting for. While it may take its sweet time getting there, when Saturn rewards you, it’s oh-so satisfying. Slow and steady with this planet, but the celebrations are well worth it once you cross that finish line.
How To Work With Saturnian Energy
Saturn teaches us valuable lessons about patience, discipline, and responsibility. To really benefit from Saturn’s energy, you need to accept that there will be limits and set healthy boundaries for yourself.
My advice would be to look up to Saturn like a mentor, not down on him like he’s holding you back. He’s there to guide you and teach you, just like a teacher. With teachers, you usually look up to learn from them, right? So do the same with Saturn – look up to understand what he’s all about and let the lessons sink in.
He wants you to develop discipline and perseverance. Be willing to work hard even when it’s difficult. If you stick with it, he’ll reward you in time. But Saturn also represents taking things slow, so don’t be too hard on yourself. Everything worthwhile takes patience.
Accept that there will be obstacles, too. We all face constraints in life, and Saturn is reminding us to stay within our means. Instead of fighting the limitations, focus on what you can control and take it one small step at a time.
Thank You, Saturn
We all experience Saturn’s influence at some point, pushing us to grow up, face reality, and take responsibility. But you don’t wanna fight it. Work with it instead. Use that energy to build character, gain some wisdom. When Saturn’s messing with your world next, remember – it’s making you tougher and smarter in the long run. My Saturn return is in the past now. All the things I didn’t get to do as a kid? Now I’m doing it and loving life more than ever before. Turns out I didn’t miss out after all. That’s the power of Saturn.
