The full moon tends to bring things to the surface. Emotions, realizations, unfinished business, and sometimes clarity you didn’t ask for. I was born under a full moon, so I’ve always paid attention to how differently those nights feel compared to the rest of the month.
You don’t need to believe in anything specific to work with it. Some of these are practical, some symbolic, some just help you get your head straight. Over the years, these are the full-moon habits I’ve actually kept.
Use what fits. Skip what doesn’t.
1. Charge Your Crystals

If you use crystals, the full moon is a good time to reset them. Place them on a windowsill or outside overnight. Nothing fancy required.
Even if you’re skeptical, this works as a reset ritual. You decide what they’re for next, instead of carrying old intentions forward.
2. Make Moon Water
Fill a glass jar with water and leave it under the full moon. Keep it simple.
Some people drink it, others use it for rituals, plants, or just keep it nearby. I usually keep a jar around as a reminder of what I focused on that night.
3. Take Your Wallet Outside
Stand under the moonlight with your wallet in your hands. No theatrics.
Think about stability, not jackpots. Enough money to breathe. Enough to feel less tense. Enough to move more freely. That mindset tends to stick longer than wishful thinking.
4. Write Down What’s Bugging You
Write the name of a person, situation, or thought loop that’s been getting under your skin. Fold the paper and put it in your shoe. Walk around with it for a bit.
It’s not about punishment. It’s about reminding yourself that you don’t have to carry everything in your head.
5. Take a Ritual Bath

Hot water, herbs if you have them, or just salt. Phones out of reach.
This is less about luck and more about resetting your nervous system. You think more clearly afterward, and that alone changes outcomes.
6. Set Intentions on Paper
Write down what you want next. Be specific, but realistic.
Read it under the moonlight. Burn the paper or keep it somewhere private. The important part is committing to the thought instead of letting it float around unfinished.
7. Clean Your Space
Full moon energy tends to highlight clutter, both mental and physical.
Clear one area. Desk, kitchen counter, inbox. You don’t need to deep clean your life. One clear surface changes how a whole room feels.
8. Meditate Under the Moon

Outside or by a window. No music, no guided anything.
Just sit. Notice what comes up. Full moons are good at showing you what you’ve been avoiding thinking about.
9. Perform a Money Spell
Light a candle. Put a few coins next to it. Write down a financial goal that actually makes sense for your life.
This works best when it’s paired with action later, not when it replaces it.
10. Release What No Longer Serves You

Write down habits, situations, or attachments that are clearly outdated.
Tear the paper up or burn it safely. You don’t need to analyze it. Just acknowledge that you’re done carrying it forward.
11. Dance Under the Moon
Dance, stretch, walk. Doesn’t matter how it looks.
Movement helps shake loose emotional buildup that tends to peak around the full moon.
12. Create a Vision Board
Not for aesthetics. For direction.
Add images or words that still feel relevant. Remove anything that doesn’t. This is about alignment with where you’re actually headed, not who you used to be.
13. Charge Your Tarot Cards

If you read cards, place them under the moonlight.
It’s less about power and more about clearing emotional residue from previous readings.
14. Perform a Protection Ritual
Light a candle and focus on boundaries. Where you give too much. Where you let things slide.
Protection rituals are often just permission to say no more often.
15. Express Gratitude
Gratitude doesn’t need to be big or polished.
Write a short list of things that feel stable, supportive, or simply okay right now. This helps anchor your focus in what’s already holding, instead of constantly chasing what’s missing.
The Full Moon Is Your Cosmic Ally
The full moon isn’t about forcing change. It’s about seeing clearly what’s already there.
Use it to reset, release, or recalibrate. Even one small action done intentionally tends to carry further than a long list you never repeat.
