About Images We Use

Images matter to us just as much as the words. They set the mood, add context, and often say things faster than text ever could. That’s why visuals are a big part of how Chi-nese looks and feels.
Most of the images you see on the site come from places we trust and use regularly.
We often use photos from Pexels, simply because they offer beautiful, high-quality images that are free to use for both personal and commercial projects. The licensing is clear, which makes working with them straightforward.
Pixabay is another source we rely on. Their images are released under the Creative Commons CC0 license, meaning they can be used freely without attribution. It’s a great option when we need something simple, symbolic, or illustrative.
We also use Unsplash, especially for atmospheric and high-resolution photography. Like Pixabay, Unsplash images can be used without restrictions, which makes them easy to integrate into our content.
Sometimes, when we’re looking for something very specific or hard to find, we use AI-generated images. These are mainly used when suitable copyright-free visuals don’t exist for a particular topic.
A large part of the visuals on Chi-nese are also our own creations. This includes custom illustrations made in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, as well as original photos taken by us. To protect this work, these images usually carry a Chi-nese logo watermark.
We care about transparency and using images responsibly. Our goal is always to enhance your experience, not to take shortcuts. If you believe an image has been used incorrectly or without permission (even though we’re not aware of any such cases), please feel free to contact us at info@chi-nese.com and we’ll take a look.
