In the classic Ashta Koota system used for Kundli matching in Vedic astrology, there are 8 categories or “kootas” that are compared between two charts. Nadi is one of them. Actually, it’s the most weighted one – out of 36 total points, Nadi alone carries a whopping 8 points.
There are three Nadis: Aadi (Vata), Madhya (Pitta), and Antya (Kapha). Nadi represents the flow of energy and, interestingly, has ties to health, genetics, and reproduction. When two people have the same Nadi (let’s say both are Aadi), the Nadi score is zero. This is called Nadi Dosh, and traditionally, it’s seen as a red flag.
But, and this is a big but, context matters. A lot.
Why Is Nadi Dosh Considered a Problem?
