Mental health is an increasingly hot topic in the world today, and it’s, fortunately, losing much of its stigma. Statistics reveal that multitudes of people have mental health issues at least once in their lives. They can become a problem for anyone, regardless of age, gender or race.

Positive affirmations can also be used when you’re facing specific challenges or difficult times. For instance:

  • When feeling down, hopeless, unloved, inadequate, etc.

  • Financial positive affirmations: Money flows to me easily and abundantly. I always have more than enough money to meet my needs.

They Rewire Our Brains

We know that neural pathways are created by our thoughts and emotions. Every time we have a thought or feeling, it strengthens the neural pathway associated with that experience; this is how our brains become wired. If we keep thinking negative thoughts, we will keep reinforcing those neural pathways and get stuck in a negative cycle. If we start thinking positive thoughts, we can start to rewire our brains and create new neural pathways. This will help us to feel better mentally and emotionally.

When we repeat positive affirmations to ourselves over and over again, they become ingrained in our subconscious mind. They help us to focus on the good things in life, and to believe in ourselves. Whilst the process may initially feel robotic and awkward, over time it will seem more natural and automatic. The more we repeat these affirmations, the more they will start to influence our thoughts and emotions, and eventually our behavior too. We will begin to act and feel like we are enough, that we can create our own reality, and that everything will work out for us in the end. This is because our brains will start to believe these statements!
