A few days ago, I felt like someone plugged me straight into a cosmic battery. I was buzzing with energy, ridiculously productive, and I started more projects in one day than I usually do in months. I even had the energy to fix all my broken closets, clean my car and do so many things in a single day. I felt like I was in a vortex…just standing in the center of it, swirling around and fixing everything at once.
At first, I couldn’t figure out what was going on. I check my chart every morning (it’s basically my version of coffee), but nothing major jumped out that day. No big lunations, no heavy outer planet drama, nothing.
Later, though, I remembered where my natal asteroid Klotho sits: 28°44’ Libra. And guess who was visiting? Transit Mars, marching right across that exact degree. Suddenly, everything clicked into place.
Klotho in Astrology
Klotho, in mythology, is one of the Three Fates. She’s the one who spins the thread of life—the very beginning of everything. If Lachesis measures and Atropos cuts, then Klotho is the spark, the first breath, the let’s do this moment.
In astrology, her placement in your chart can tell you something about where and how you feel called to begin, to initiate, to weave new possibilities into existence.
When transits touch your natal Klotho, it’s like your inner “fresh start” button gets pressed. Some activations are subtle, like Venus gliding by, inspiring a new creative project or a sudden desire to beautify your space. Others feel fated, like when the North Node aligns with her, nudging you toward a new direction that seems bigger than just you. Jupiter can expand Klotho’s energy, making those beginnings grand, optimistic, and impossible to ignore. And Mars? Mars doesn’t ask politely. It barges in, lights a fire, and says: do it now.
That’s exactly what happened to me. Mars hit my Klotho, and I became unstoppable. I wasn’t just daydreaming about new projects…I was hammering, cleaning, writing, creating. It was like Mars gave me the fuel, but Klotho gave me the doorway, the thread to follow into all these new beginnings.
And yes, Mars was (and still is) in Libra, a sign where Mars isn’t usually at home, but in my case, it wasn’t about Libra’s hesitations or compromises. It was the raw Martian spark itself, igniting my Klotho and setting everything into motion.
Tip: If you want to find your own Klotho, head over to Astro-Seek’s asteroid transit chart. Enter your birth date and location, then scroll down to the “Fates Asteroids” section in the table and select Klotho (97). Voilà, you’ll see exactly where she sits in your chart.
Why You Should Watch Klotho
Most people don’t pay much attention to asteroids, but Klotho is worth keeping an eye on. She’s not about endings or transformations (we have plenty of planets for that). She’s about the start line. She shows you where life has a way of opening up, where the universe hands you a blank page and a pen.
So next time you feel that mysterious “I have to start something right now” surge, check where Klotho is in your chart, and who’s visiting her. She may be a tiny asteroid, but when she’s activated, you’ll know.
