You’re out in the garden working or sitting on “the throne,” doing your business, and all of a sudden, you hear your phone start ringing! The problem is, your hands are dirty. You finish up and check your phone, expecting a missed call. But there’s nothing – no messages, no missed calls!
If this has happened to you more than once, it must make you think, “What’s the deal? Am I losing it, or is this some kind of sign from the beyond?” Before you declare yourself a loon, though, here are a few possible explanations for what’s really going on.
Your Spirit Guides Are Trying To Get Your Attention
When you think you hear your phone but it’s not actually ringing, it could be a sign from your spirit guides or guardian angels. They might be trying to get your attention to tell you something important.
It could be an answer to a question you’ve been wondering about. Or maybe they’re giving you a hint about which path to take in life. They also could be reminding you that it’s time to take action on something. Or it could just be their way of letting you know that you’re loved and supported on your journey.
And you know how sometimes you’ll look at your phone, and the time is 11:11 or 12:12? If you’re just checking to see who called but then you notice those angel numbers or mirror hours, that’s the angels trying to get your attention. They’re sending you a little message to let you know they’re watching over you.
The phone ringing is a metaphor for “higher calling,” much like the clock represents divine timing or the mirror symbolizes self-reflection. So, if you hear your phone ringing and it’s not really, it might be a sign your guardian angels are trying to tell you something or give you some advice. My advice would be to meditate and see if you can communicate with them to figure out what they want you to know.
A Message From The Universe
In a lot of spiritual traditions, people believe that hearing your phone ring can actually be a message from the universe or God. It could be an invitation to look inside yourself and connect with your spiritual side.
The spiritual meaning might depend on the situation, too. For instance:
- If your phone rings while you’re meditating, it could be saying to focus on your spiritual practice and stay tuned into the divine.
- But if it rings while you’re super stressed about something, maybe it’s trying to remind you to take a deep breath and look at it from a spiritual perspective to find a solution.
- Hearing a phone ring in your sleep could be a sign that you’re evolving or transforming inside, and your subconscious is telling you that you’re finally waking up to your true self.
A Message From Your Loved One
When people pass on, their spirits may still connect with us somehow from the other side. It’s not like they can just call up, but they find little ways to let us know they’re there, like making a phone ring with a special song or tone.
My aunt Liz totally loved the Dolly Parton song “Jolene.” Any time I hear it start up out of nowhere on the phone, I figure that’s her saying hi.
Someone Wants To Reconnect With You
Sometimes, when you think you hear your phone ringing but it’s not really, it might be a sign someone from your past is thinking about you. Maybe an ex wants to connect again on some level. It’s almost like the universe is telling you that you should give that person a call.
It could be that your soul needs to heal from whatever happened between you before. Or maybe there’s still something you need to work out together. It’s crazy when you think about how, even after a breakup, you can still sometimes smell their perfume floating around or keep seeing the same car they drove. So hearing phantom phone rings could also be a sign that old feelings are still there or that something was left unsaid.
A Reminder To Be More Mindful
When you hear a phone ring for no reason, it could be the universe trying to tell you something. It’s like a reminder to pay attention to your gut feelings and notice what messages you might be getting from the cosmos.
A lot of us are so busy we don’t stop to see what’s going on around us. We could miss important signs if we’re too stuck in our daily to-do lists and worries. It’s good to be aware of your surroundings and see if anything seems weird.
Next time you hear your phone ringing, I’d recommend writing down what you were thinking about at that moment. Jotting down your thoughts can help you see patterns or messages the universe might be sending your way.
Coincidence? I Don’t Think So!
Do you believe in coincidences? I don’t. And I don’t believe it’s just a coincidence when I think I hear my phone ringing, but it’s not actually ringing. Though I guess some people would say it’s just random chance rather than anything spiritual.
But it’s happened to me so many times, where I swear I hear my phone and then sure enough, someone calls me within a few minutes. So, who knows, maybe we can somehow pick up on the signal when someone is thinking about calling us. Either way, I’m not buying that it’s all just down to coincidence!
