In January 2021, transiting North Node was conjunct my natal Venus in Gemini, and it showed up in a way I honestly did not expect.
My natal Venus sits at 17° Gemini, right on the cusp of the 2nd and 3rd houses in Placidus. In Regiomontanus, which I prefer to use, it falls fully in the 2nd house, so I always take both houses into account when interpreting transits to this placement.
The Timing: January 2021 and the World on Pause
January 2021 was deep Covid time. People were spending most of their days at home, working included. A lot of us were also quietly reassessing how we earn money. I already had a job, but the thought kept popping up: why not try something new?
Around that time, a friend started talking nonstop about the stock market, specifically about a stock called GameStop. He had been reading discussion forums and was convinced something big was coming. I had never traded before, not even once. Still, I opened an account and bought GME shares for a relatively small amount.
What happened next is now history. The stock exploded during the GameStop short squeeze, when retail traders squeezed short sellers. I ended up making roughly six times what I had invested.
When the Node Moved On
As a complete beginner, I thought it made sense to sell the stock and reinvest elsewhere. A month later, transiting North Node formed a square to my natal Mars in Virgo in the 6th house.
That was the moment everything flipped. I invested in another company and lost all the money I had just gained.
Looking Back at the Astrology
When I look back now, the symbolism feels almost too literal.
The North Node does not only describe a direction you are meant to grow into in the natal chart. In transits, it often shows what unfolds in a very matter-of-fact way, regardless of expectations.
My Venus sits on the 2nd–3rd house cusp in Gemini. The 2nd house deals with money and values. Gemini, ruled by Mercury, is about thinking, analyzing, numbers, charts, and trading. That combination played out exactly through the stock market.
The North Node conjunct Venus brought a sudden financial gain. The square to my Virgo Mars followed, and the money disappeared just as quickly. Virgo Mars wants to analyze, fix, optimize, and do better next time. In this case, that impulse cost me everything I had just earned.

A Friend’s Experience with NN Conjunct Venus
A friend of mine went through North Node conjunct Venus in Cancer in the 9th house in 2019. At the time, she took a short-term job in Thailand to escape harsh European winters. While living abroad, she became pregnant.
Again, the symbolism fit perfectly. Cancer relates to pregnancy, motherhood, and the female body. Venus speaks to love and what we value. The 9th house covers long-distance travel and life abroad. All themes showed up clearly and without ambiguity. I also shouldn’t forget that Venus represents a daughter or female child, and she was indeed pregnant with a girl.
General Themes of North Node Conjunct Venus
North Node conjunct Venus transit often coincides with experiences connected to love, money, values, comfort, and what feels meaningful or worthwhile.
For me, it showed up as financial success through the stock market. For my friend, it was pregnancy while living abroad. For someone else, it could be relocating to a place that feels more comfortable, or choosing a relationship or lifestyle that aligns better with what they value.
The key is always the natal Venus. Look at its sign and house placement. That is where the story tends to unfold.
If your Venus is in Aquarius, where the North Node will slowly move in 2026, you may notice developments linked to the online world, social media, or groups of people (meeting someone online or through a community.) Some people may even develop a strong interest in astrology, a very Aquarian theme.
